At long last I *finally* started a Flickr group where you can post pictures of all the gorgeous things you've made with my fabrics! A million thanks to Woof Nanny for the info on how to get it done. Thanks so much for the easy peasy instructions and tips!)
I would love it if ya'll would come join the group and show off all the pretty things you've made! It looks sort of lame since I'm the only member right now, so pretty please show me some love and become a member... :)

My 2010 Calendar
I'm so busy these days that I don't get as much time to spend sewing and stitching as I'd like. But because it is such a treat, I think I enjoy it even more. So, over the Xmas holiday I made sure I got to spend a few hours at the sewing machine and with my embroidery hoop.
Every year I spend HOURS searching for the perfect calendar. When I stumbled across this blank fabric calendar from SeptemberHouse, I immediately knew I wanted to use some of my fabrics to personalize it. I love the way it turned out and hanging it with pant hangers seemed like the perfect accessory. I pieced together some scraps for the sides, adding some embroidery details around a few months and then backed the whole thing with freezer paper so it would have some stiffness. I finished it by top stitching the middle panel with the Birdie Dots. It makes my office very cheery!
Wishing everyone a wonderful New Year! Thank so much for all your support, 2009 has been an astoundingly amazing year and I can't wait to see what 2010 brings.
xoxo

Potholder from Sue
I seriously have THE nicest customers. I can't tell you guys how much I really love hearing from you and seeing the pictures of all the cute things you make using my fabrics.
Sue sent me this picture of a potholder she whipped up. How totally adorable, huh? I'm a huge fan of the improv square and love the way she used the grey linen (yum) and the red print to really make the blue of the Birdies on Chairs pop. Thanks so much for sharing it with us Sue!
As a side note, on my VERY long list of stuff to do is setting up a Flickr group where you guys can post picture of the things you make with my fabric... So if anyone has any hints on how to do that, I'd be ever so grateful. I'm sure it doesn't take long but I just haven't made it that far down on my ever growing to-do list...
And now I will add "potholder" to my to-do list. :)

Featured in Lucky Magazine
I have been waiting (not so patiently) for the January issue of Lucky Magazine to hit the stands. So every day I have been going to the grocery to see if it has arrived. And tonight, it was finally there!
I grabbed a few copies, quickly thumbed through one and weeeee! there it is on page 45. My Elephant throw pillow!!
So there I am with my 5 copies in line to check out (ok, I know 5 is more than a few). And the guy asks me...so do you know someone in this magazine? Now people, I really had not intended to fully dork out in the grocery store and tell the nice older gentleman at the register about my pillow... But guess, who went all spazzy and says "Look...here on page 45! That pillow! I designed that fabric!"? (grin, grin, grin) And then the bagger girl gets in on the acrion and wants to see the pillow and then the guy behind me in line wants to know what's going on...
It was a full-on display of Laurie dorkiness. But it was fun. :) And the pillow looks pretty darn cute in print!

Animal Sherbet Squares Quilt
Ever since I started following Ashley over at Film in the Fridge I have dreamed of having her make me a quilt. AND I've really been wanting a quilt from my Animal Sherbet fabrics...Can you say golden opportunity? I knew Ashely would come up with something amazing, but to say that I think this quilt is insanely beautiful doesn't even begin to do it justice. Before I go park myself by the front door for 2 days waiting for the postman to deliver it to me, I wanted you to take a peek.
Until 12/16, I will refund 15% of the purchase off of any Animal Sherbet fabrics from my store. Just mention this post when you checkout and I'll send you a paypal refund.
It really makes me a little weak in the knees!
And the back is just as lovely as the front. I have always been a huge fan of how Ashley's quilts are really 2 in one. That green is such a surprise and I LOVE how it coordinates with the patterns.
