Giveaway day - Tufted Tweets

Tweet, tweet!!! Giveaway day is finally here!! I have several FQ packs of Tufted Tweets and one of them might have your name on it!

Comments are closed.

GIANT update 4/30: Robert Kaufman is giving away
a 1 yard SET of Tufted Tweets. After you leave a comment here for my giveaway,
FLY over to their blog before 5/3 and leave a comment to register to win a full yard set!!!

UPDATE 4/28: Hello my tweets (sorry... I really can't control it). I am reading every single comment as they come in. I love your sense of humor and that some of you also have design crushes on chairs in your life too. Thanks for being a part of this release with me!

UPDATE 4/26: You guys are incredibly wonderful. I truly cannot believe how many entries there are! Thank you a million times over for all your kind words, your love of birds and chairs and for all of your support. Keep those entries coming and I'll draw the winner on Monday 5/3!

Robert Kaufman is going to start shipping Tufted Tweets in the next few weeks. So very, very soon you'll be able to go visit your favorite fabric store and get some Tweets for your stash. I personally can't wait to go visit a store a see the bolts on the shelf. It's still a pretty strong possibility that I will dork out and shed a few tears when that day finally arrives. It's been an amazing journey to get here and I am so happy to have been able to share it with you! :)

So... the FQs I'm giving away are some of the very first ones to make it out into the world. Fly and be free little tweets!!

For your chance to win, just leave me a comment and tell me:
- What you'd make using the fabric
- Or, tell me all about your favorite chair/couch/seating apparatus
- Or just say hello!
Just make sure that there's a way for me to contact you when you leave your comment.

Next Monday 5/3, I'll select 2 lucky winners at random and the fabric will soon be winging it's way to you (sorry...couldn't resist). Thanks to everyone for all of your words of encouragement and support. You have no idea how much all of your posts and notes mean to me. :)

After you leave your comment, you MUST go visit Ashley over at Film in the Fridge. She is unveiling the gorgeous quilt she made using Tufted Tweets. I think it is truly, truly gorgeous. I think all of Ashley's quilts are pretty amazing but this one is obviously pretty close to my heart.

AND how fabulous is this? Ashley's pattern for the Unfurnished quilt will be available as a free download from Robert Kaufman's site (and from mine and from Ashley's) in the next few weeks!

AND... a little birdie told me that Ashley has a few FQs of Tufted Tweets to giveaway in the next few weeks. So if you don't win my giveaway, stay tuned to find out when Ashley's giveaway will happen.

Good luck peeps (sorry... sometimes I just can't contain myself...)!

Love the fabrics, love the quilts!!

My favourite chair is a 40s hostess chair my mom rescued for me after my grandma died - it was covered in dirty nubbly orange fabric and I had it recovered in a lovely chocolate brown ultrasuede. It turned out to be the perfect size for my tiny little first condo.

Anonymous said...

I love these fabrics! I would give the fabrics to my mom, who told me about this contest and these gorgeous colors.

Would so love to win this beautiful fabric! I would make a lap size quilt for cuddling up on the couch!

Love Love Love both colorways, the possibilities! Would love to have a few to play with hot off the presses!

Hahaha... your question about seating apparatus made me think of a little stool/monopod thing that my parents have. I think it's for bird watching and such? It folds up and can be used as a walking stick, and then it opens up like a T and you can sit on the top on a little leather thing stretched over a frame. Then the one chair leg and your two legs form a tripod that keeps you up. We never figured out if you are supposed to straddle it like a saddle or sit on it more like a directors chair, but either way it's extremely uncomfortable if your bottom is any larger than that of a 12 year old boy. So I guess that's my favorite seating apparatus.

I so adore these fabrics. I am going to freak out when they hit the stores. Not sure what i would make with them yet, a quilt of some sort for sure. My favourite chair is one I picked up at a consignment shop for $25. It has a fab green velvet upholstery and is probably from the 60's. It rocks and is squeaky, but I love it.

Rachel said...

Awesome fabrics! I'd put the fabric to good use making some huggable throw pillows for our couch (which we love because it's an extra long sectional with seating for tons of people!). :)

Sarah Craig said...

Beautiful fabric! You must be so proud!!! I'd love to win some to play with - my mind is just full of visions for this great fabric!! Pick me pick me!!!

Linnea said...

Such beautiful fabrics! I love how bright the colors are.
I inherited a really awesome Victorian love seat from my grandmother...I believe it's already been reupholstered once (in the tackiest but oh so lovely 70's floral velvet) but it still holds so much charm and mystery. The arms curve around and keep you nice and tucked in...love it!

What is my favorite seat in my house? DEFINITELY my little love seat a friend gave me. PERFECT size for me and my dog to cuddle up on any way we want and be comfy!

Ashley did an AMAZING job with these fabrics. Surprise, surprise...her quilts are ALWAYS off the hook!

What an adorable line! Congrats on your new collection!

My favorite chair was owned by my great-grandmother. It's mine now, and I've re-covered it in some more modern fabric. It's an awesome mid-century slipper chair. My favorite seat in the house!

WOW WOW WOW, there aren't words to express how I feel about this fabric. The couches, the chairs, the colors, oh my. My heart is pounding out of my chest just thinking about getting some of this fantastic fabric. I've been regularly drooling over it all over the web for a while now and to think that I can finally get some is a beautiful thing that brightens up my Monday! Thanks for the great giveaway, my daughter will love the pillows and bag that I will make for her if I win.
Kelley
p.s. I love all your fabric!

Quite frankly, I will probably end up sitting and staring at them for a while. :) And then use them in the various little projets I have made up for myself this summer.

Marie said...

Oh, I have such an obsession with chairs! I buy them, pick them from peoples trash, beg people for their old ones! My girlfriend will say to me 'where are you going to put it?' It doesn't matter, I will find a place! The fabric is great!

KerryQ said...

Ooh, the new fabrics are fab! I have to tell you about a fave chair. My parents were given a beautiful antique Shaker chair when they were first married by a local woman. It's (still) in beautiful condition, and is probably worth some buckos. The irony is that the woman who gifted them, used the chair to hold canvases while oil painting. (Ahhh!). Good luck with your chairs!

sembatgirl said...

I'd love to create with these fabrics! Maybe a quilt... maybe a bag... the possibilities are endless!

These are just begging to be made into a quilt! Or maybe a cute summer dress for my cute little baby :)

A friend of mine cleaned out a "hoarder type" house and sold me a 1950s neglected chair for $50. My vision became reality when I had it refinished and upholstered with Ikea fabric (bright red with white meandering line). Two color fabric is my favorite. Lovely!

Those colors are just scrumptious!!! Thought I'd tell you a funny story to make this comment worth reading....

When my son was a few weeks old I took him to my husband's basketball game. It was cold so he was bundled in blankets with just his head of hair peeking out. I was sitting there when a little boy came and sat next to me. His eyes were huge and he was grinning. He went to touch my son's hair and was very upset when he found out I wasn't holding a puppy! =)

What a great giveaway, and what gorgeous fabrics! My favorite chair is one that my mother bought at our local surplus and salvage store. It was a $200 chair that she paid $19 for. The chair was part of a huge load of furniture from an insurance loss from a store that had been vandalized, and it had spray paint all over it. I DIYed and got that chair looking gorgeous! Gosh I love chairs. :P Thanks for the chance at your giveaway.

Hannita said...

I can't stand it. These are so frackin' awesome. I was so excited when I saw they were being picked up by R. Kaufman.

Favorite Seating Apparatus - hmm... I've got a table that was in rough shape so I painted the tabletop yellow. Then I bought three thrift store chairs. Two of them I recovered in a yellow fabric to match the table. The third I painted the wood yellow and kept the seat black. I'm pretty proud of them.

Amy said...

I don't know what i would make. I would have to hold it and caress it and stare at it for a few weeks before I decided.

As for seating, we need new furniture in the living room. In anticipation of a modern new sectional, I pushed my armchairs and sofa together like a sectional would be set up. Surprisingly, I really love it, and will miss the arms in the middle of the sectional when it arrives, LOL.

THanks for the giveaway. Your fabric is beautiful!

Congratulations!! Your new line is truly gorgeous. The colour palettes, birds (which I am a sucker for in general) and the chairs... oh! those chairs! I fell in love with Barbara Barry's chair fabric years ago...but yours has colour!! Glorious colour! The blues and greens would work in pretty much every room of my house. I plan to make a quilt for the sofa, a tablecloth, napkins and maybe some pillowcovers. Is that too much of a good thing? Nah!! My fav. seating apparatus' are a clean-line high back sofa and an extra large ottoman. I know this line will be a huge hit and I wish you all the best with your next venture.

I have two favorite seating items. The first is a handmade Amish rocking chair that I have had my whole life and then some as it was made well before I arrived on the scene. It is made from the knotty unfinished wood that the Amish traditionally use and who's name I cannot recall at the moment because my brain is in definite need of a siesta. I love it because it is handmade and is beautifully crafted. I also love it because it is a family heirloom that was passed down to be from my grandfather. Lastly, it is just rustic and wonderful.

My other favorite it my cheap-o futon from Target that sits in my office and has so many functions. It is great for sitting and watching TV while I crochet or sew the binding onto my quilts. It also works out perfectly for quick afternoon siestas. For some reason I just don't feel so guilty about a quick little snooze if it is on the futon instead of on the bed :) Lastly, it holds piles of semi-finished quilts or stacks of yarn from in-progress projects. It is in need of recovering and I haven't been able to decided between a nice heavy denim or a fun patchwork. It sits and waits for me to make a decision.

Beautiful fabrics!! I love the colors. They are all so bright and fun!! I honestly don't know what I'd make with them. A quilt for the futon would be fun or some pillows. I've also been having too much fun making interesting pot holders lately. So many ideas and never enough time for everything :)

I came to you from Ashley's site...
My hand sewing chair - the springs have gone, so need to have cushions under so my knees aren't near my chin, with the arms serving as built in pin cushions which act as security against anyone else sitting in it who would need to use those arms to lever themselves out with. I also sewed the end of a long piece of ribbon to the arm and have attached my sewing scissors to the other end, as I always used to leave my scissors somewhere else...
and needless to say, an ott light over my left shoulder!

Ashley's done you proud. These quilts are a beautiful collaboration - gorgeous fabric and well thought out quilt design to show them off. I hope to see more of you two together again!

I remember the first time I saw the chair fabric and just fell in love with it! I don't have much by way of fabrics, so winning some tufted tweets would be sweet! :o)

Oh my that is one beautiful quilt!! I asked my favorite fabric store if they will be carrying your line and they will be ~ doing the happy dance! I plan on using your fabrics to make a lovely little quilt for my sofa.

The fabric is fabulous! I actually found this site by seeing Ashley's quilts - so fun. I would definitely make a quilt with the fabric to snuggle up with on my (dark) purple couch...you wouldn't think purple would work for a couch, but it does.

My favorite fabric? don't think I could pick one, they are are awesome. I love a cordoroy chair in my living room. It is soft and snuggly. I would make a quilt to snuggle under in my chair

Oh...I'm seeing a fabulous quilt out of these!! Possibly some sort of wonky log cabin quilt.

It says "spring time" Time to make some new pillows and I want to make a new headboard for my bed especially with the chair print. What a great feeling
to have your "baby" come out with such fan fare. Congrats

I love all of the colors together in that stack! I have a vintage piece of fabric with Eames chair knock-offs printed on it, and I would love to add to my chair fabric collection!

These fabrics are so great!! My favorite seat (does this count?) is my parachute camping hammock -- Could nap in it for hours, and packs up to the size of a handbag (I know, amazing!) I'd use these prints to make a colorful quilt with nice fat half-hexagons - maybe some mirrored chairs and sofas?

Lauren said...

Congratulations on your beautiful new fabric line! I never dreamed there would be a fabric line combining birds and chairs - two of my favorite things! (Not to mention my relief at knowing I'm not the only one with a thing for chairs!)

Wow - thats a lot of comments.
Well I am thinking pillows for the couch of course. But then again a toss quilt over the couch would also be nice.
I do love the colors!!!

Gorgeous fabrics!! I saw Ashley's quilt and it is amazing! I think if I won these fabrics, I'd use it to make a quilt with large squares of different sized framed in white. I'd really want to show off these wonderful prints! :)

Karin Grow said...

let's see....I just started a quilt with all your other fabrics and would LOVE to finish it off with these lovelies. I'm super inspired by Ashley's design. I love the greens/blues, but I'm really digging the purple right now!
My favorite chair.....I have some super cool vintage retro loungers outside that rock back and feel like I'm floating on a cloud. Since the weathers nice pretty much year round, I figured my outdoor chairs count too.

melissa said...

I love the tweet fabric! I would probably make some pillows for my couch. My favorite piece of furniture that I really wish I owned is an orange vinyl ugly couch at a shop somewhere in Pittsburgh. It's just so ugly that it's amazing.
Also I have a story to tell you. I ordered the donkeys with wellies fabric awhile back and I love it. When I saw your birds on sofas fabric I showed it to my husband. He thinks your combinations are pretty cool and curiously random. He thinks that we should make you a set of dice with random objects on them. You can roll the dice to come up with your next design idea!
In all seriousness though your fabric designs are awesome! Keep up the amazing work! : )

Gorgeous! My baby quilt with the lamb fabric is nearly done, and I know that Tufted Tweets would be just as fun to work with. The sorbet colour-way is stunning.

Congratulations!! I just love the quilts that Ashley put together with your amazing fabric! My favorite sitting apparatus is a wing-backed chair that my parents own. I read my way through high school literature in that chair! Thanks for the great giveaway.

Love the fabric line...I think I will purchase it in all colorways...the sofa print is my favorite because it reminds me of my Great Aunt Emmie's sofa which I still have (recovered cushions with vintage quilts). The sofa reminds me of HAPPY memories growing up in Texas...missing it truly as we live on da' bayou in Louisiana.

Oh, this is gorgeous! I would love to win. I would make a throw for our couch, since we badly need one. And then I'd make patchwork pillows for the couch with the scraps. But I'd save the green chairs print for a fun summer shirt for our little guy. He's totally into wearing things he can recognize and this would be a hit. :)

Wonderful fabric! My favorite chair is an old metal-frame recliner that belonged to my great-great grandfather. It has a little lever on the side and you have to adjust it to just the right position, then you can slide the feet up and the back... back.

Unknown said...

I love them all, but especially these purples. I'd put them all together in a baby quilt.
