First, thanks to everyone for making me giggle at myself and my previous tutorial for charred croutons. :)
Over the weekend I finished off my tree skirt! Am really happy with the way it turned out and its going to be so much better than the usual wadded up sheet that usually doubles as a skirt each year.
The only challenge is that every time I put it down on the ground to photograph it, the cats come over to 'help'. So just pretend there aren't kitties lying on it/under it and you'll get the idea. I'm beginning to wonder how these curious little creatures are going to do when the tree actually arrives. I'm beginning to fear for the safety of my ornaments...
In other holiday crafting news, I'm working on some fun holiday garland from Tufted Tweets and I'll post pics of that as soon as I get them done. Hoping to possibly get them finished this week. Maybe I'll even make 2 and do a giveaway!!
What fun holiday sewing projects are you working on?
hmmm... not sure what's cuter...the tree skirt of the kitties!
ReplyDeleteOMG, Those kitties are adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the one with the little kitty poking his head a little out #2nd pic that is! Maybe next year I will get around to making one! Yours sure came out lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat tree skirt (and the kitty) is adorable!!
ReplyDeletecutenes!! I'm affraid it's going to be the old sheet again this year. Maybe next year I'll go all posh and make my tree a skirt too :-)
ReplyDeleteTree skirt? Where? My eyes keep landing on those adorable kittens! ;)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how they take over our projects?
Adorable! Tree skirt and the kittens. :D
Oh man, now I want a CAT. Love the tree skirt!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with cats and Christmas tree skirts? My cats are always ecstatic when I pull out the tree skirt! Maybe I should make them their own little quilts this year for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the smiles - cute pictures - lovely kitties
ReplyDeleteYour tree skirt is adorable, as are the kitties. Hang bells in the bottom branches of your tree, and then you'll know when the cats are attacking!
ReplyDeleteyour tree skirt looks amazing...i wish i had seen this before i began the one i am working on for a friend...it would have been so much simpler.
ReplyDeleteooooh come on now...its adorable and the kitty--so funny...
ReplyDeleteI actually made something with my santa donkey fabric too!!
Quick glimpse at top photo as I began reading...my eye made the cat part of the tree skirt. I began wondering how you sewed it in to make the cat so real...before I read it is a real cat! Beautiful tree skirt. Thank you for lovely blog
ReplyDeleteNo no no no! You just can't put two increddibly cute things in one picture :)). It's like one of those optical illusions that makes you dizzy. I am looking at the cute kitty, then the lovely quilt, then the kitty again, then the quilt..I'm getting really dizzy in here and I just can't stop looking at so much cuteness :))) And I'm not even sure this is a word :))) Ah, and then look at the cutest sofas ever on the side bar! So not fair :D
ReplyDeleteLaurie, the tree skirt is amazing and adorable. The Kittehs are precious!
ReplyDeleteI love the skirt and the kitty peeking out! Every year at Christmas, as soon as my quilted skirt comes out, my cat parks himself for 3 weeks under the tree.
ReplyDeleteYour tree skirt turned out great! I'll have to put something like this on my agenda for next year since I have too many other things to get done prior to Christmas this year. The kitties make the photos more sweet. My cats are always trying to horn in on my photo shoots :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your tree skirt! I just finished mine recently & my cats do the same thing!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on a large scale advent calendar for my niece. It will hang on the back of a door and feature some of your great christmas fabrics.
ReplyDeletethose are darn cute photos! i love the tree skirt.
