Day 5 of 12 Goodie Giveaway

Again, I love the way you guys take the 9 ladies and turn them into free labor! I'm behind on my household chores too so am right there with you. Totally behind on my cleaning around here too!

The winner from day 4's giveaway was MeganAnne - #49!
They would be the backup dancers to my impromtu, in-my-pajamas, wooden spoon as mic while cooking dinner singing performances I grace my husband with. I'm sure they'd totally class it up!

Today's winner will receive half yard cuts of Pooches and Pickups (winners's choice of color story).

And as inspiration, here are a few goodies I made with the fabric.

My market bag

My outdoor cushion (It looks a bit like a suitcase... totally wish I had a Pooches suitcase!)

  3. As I look at the field behind our house, I see about 150 mama cows and their calves. The eight maids need to round up the cows and then go to work milking.

  4. One more week of school, then my teen DD and her friends can drink Milkshakes whilst dancing to MTV

    ReplyDelete
  9. I couldn't do much with 8 maids a milking since both of my kids have terrible dairy allergies, but I would love some milkshakes for myself :)

    ReplyDelete
  10. Although I would love some freshly squeezed milk, I think I would just like a chat with the ladies. I just feel like laying around these last few days before my baby is due. It would be nice to have someone to chit chat with.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I think I'd tell them Enough milk already-how about cleaning up all those cow turds!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Since there would be alot of milk around I would bake some chocolate chip cookies and I would dip the warm cookies in the milk. Yummy.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Since I'm a dairy farmers daughter I'd just join in, so there would be nine maids a milking!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Eight maids a milking probably have pretty good hand strength...perfect for operating the rotary cutter! Thanks for the chance to win:)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ooooh, that's an easy one! I would have them do what they do best...keep milking those cows! Then I'd use the fresh milk to make all kinds of delicious things...ice cream comes to mind...or just a nice cup of tea with real honest to goodness fresh full fat milk in it...how delicious!

  16. I would have them decorate my house for Christmas!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Instead of buying milk I would take the free milk and keep my grocery budget money for sushi! :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. I would definitely dust off the old electric homemade ice cream maker. I would also make my popular chocolate chip cookies and take them all down to the local women's shelter.

    ReplyDelete
  19. If there were 8 maids a milking, then they would clearly have their cows with them. My daughter would love to see some cows and feed them. So it would be a birthday treat for her!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'd have those strong handed women give me a massage. Then I would set them up with the 10 Lords a Leaping so they can find true love.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I had better get started on those cookies now ... because we are going to have A LOT of milk to get through.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't need those eight maids right now, but boy I sure could have used them when I was sixteen years old and had to milk cows every evening because my Dad worked nights. There were lots of activities I missed because I had to milk the cows, but I felt satisfaction in being able to help my family.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I would get those ladies to get me plenty of milk to turn into ice cream. I don't like Christmas pud so I've got to have an alternative desert on hand ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  24. There's only one thing to do with that much milk, and it's eggnog, baby.

    ReplyDelete
  25. honestly, i don't know what i would do with eight maids milking... my husband is lactose intolerant and my nutritionist just removed milk from my diet... can they just be normal maids and do my toilets?

    ReplyDelete
  26. My son drinks milk by the gallon, so I could use a few maids to save me some grocery store trips!

    ReplyDelete
  27. We go through 4 gallons a week at my house so they would be welcome. Real cream top milk would be an education for my kids. I am more concerned about where to put the cows they are milking!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Definitely get them turning the milk into gorgeous Lindor chocolates...

    ReplyDelete
  29. I would set up my own small scale dairy.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'd get them to stop milking and clean my damn house!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Eight maids of milking? Hmmm? Since there are machines that can do that chore today, I'd think that their skills could be used to help out the farmers in Georgia to pick their crops that must be picked by hand. I'm not taking sides on this political hot potato, but as you probably know, the illegal immigrants who previously performed these tasks have been booted out of the state.

    ReplyDelete
  32. No housework but I really need help. Maybe they could use there milk to make puddings, icecream, butter lots and lots of butter and real cream for my coffee.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Must be the milking contest at the County Fair. And - what do you know? I'm one of them!!!

Those other seven have NO chance at all. Ever since I learned the prize is a $1,000 worth of fabric, I'm possessed!

    *spritz* *spritz*

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would ask them to stop milking cows and clean my house instead.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Milk for: custard, ice cream, yoghurt, butter, cheese, more custard, more ice cream, maybe some cottage cheese hmmm...

    ReplyDelete
  36. I would ask them to help out a dairy farm family so that they could take a much deserved day off. Kathie L in Allentown

    ReplyDelete
  37. Oh I'd have them doing the ironing and then I would get them to sort out the loft!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I would send the 8 maids a milking to my SIL who just had a baby who happens to be very demanding and wants to eat all the time. They might as well feed the baby so SIL can get some sleep.

    ReplyDelete
  39. eight maids a milking? my husband's dream of owning milk cows would finally come true with those extra hands to help! (and with the price of beef skyrocketing, better get some butcher beef too!)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Eight maids a milking is probably one of the most useful gifts in the song (although eight might be overkill). Anyway, I'd love to learn all those "old fashioned" skills, like churning your own butter and making fresh cheese. I bet they'd be just the people to teach me!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'd offer them all some time off and put on a old Christmas movie... Who doesn't like "White Christmas"?

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'd use it as a chance to learn how to make butter and cheese for Christmas.

    velvetbarnacle [at] gmail [dot] com

    ReplyDelete
  43. We would make gourmet cheese from the milk, sell it, and buy more fabric. Thanks for the chance!

    ReplyDelete
  44. After the milking, they could move on to the bathrooms, mopping the kitchen floor and doing the dishing....

My dog could use a new bed and this would be perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I would give them the day off from milking and then, one to clean house, one to do grocery shopping, one to play taxi driver to kids, one to wrap presents, one to walk dogs, one to cook dinner (and a few meals in advance to feed hungry teenager), one to do laundry and the last one to layer and pin quilts so that I can get on with quilting the two quilts I am making for Christmas and all the other Christmas sewing I want to do. Ahh it is nice to dream - love your fabrics by the way!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'd have them make me cheese, glorious cheese with it!
    Thank you!

  47. I would enjoy fresh ice cream all year :)
    Susanne

    ReplyDelete
  48. I would keep them busy milking and have them donate the milk to a local shelter or orphanage. Those little ones need all the milk they can get!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I would have the 8 maids a milking teach me how to milk a cow. Then I would move on to goats, because I love goat cheese. Hopefully they know how to make goat cheese, too.

  51. Wow..I need the milk for my baby boy...

    ReplyDelete
  52. I would tell them to put the milk in the frig and start making dinner - using milk of course.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I think they are up for learnin' a new skill!
Since they already know how to milk...lets get the 8 maids a sewin'!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I would have them go grocery shopping! It's my least favorite thing to do, and I haven't gone in two weeks. It needs to be done desperately!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Sadly I would have to send them away as we have a serious dairy allergy and I don't need to spend time in hospital right now with my little boy. Sorry I couldn't have been more imaginative but it's late and I'm so tired!

    ReplyDelete
  56. If they were busy-a-milking, I should turn it into hot chocolate, but right now I kind of have a hankerin' for ice cream, so I'd crank the Christmas music and make some homemade ice cream with them!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Ew, I don't like milk, but add some chocolate, maybe make some ice cream, or maybe butter...How long does it take to make cheese?

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'd totally have them make ice cream and cheese for me to eat. And THEN I'd have them clean my house. (;

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'm sevely allergic to dairy, but my partner loves cheese, so after the maids were done milking, I'd get them to teach me how to make cheese! If they have cows, they should know how, right?

    ReplyDelete
  60. I'm trying to think creative--maybe make a ton of ice cream and reenact that scene from "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" where everyone plays in the ice cream and has ice cream snowball fights!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm vegan, so I'd probably have those 8 maids making soy milk.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Well if they can't clean my house, I would put them to work milking and use the money they make to hire a maid to clean my house;)

    Debbie

    ReplyDelete
  63. Maybe half of them could make a nice assortment of Christmas cookies to go with all that milk!

    ReplyDelete
  64. when life gives you milk - make milkshakes - or cheese ...

    ReplyDelete
  65. Oh I love pooches and pickups! The 8 milkmaids will help me set up my dairy and ice cream parlor. One for chocolate ...one for vanilla...one for strawberry ....one for pistachio ....one for root beer...one for boysenberry....one for cookies and cream...and one for coconut...such fun...yum yum yum.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Assuming the 8 maids a milking are bringing their cows with them, we can set up a fresh milk giveaway at our church. Then we can put them to work at one of the local dairies and take the cows to the meat processor in town and have a huge town bbq! LOL- love the fabric!

    ReplyDelete
  67. The 8 Maids a milking can produce the cream, cheese and marscapone we need to produce our Christmas desserts.

Eight maids a milking would be whipping up delicious creamy deserts, such as chocolate chiffon pies, french silk pies, malty milkshakes, homemade ice cream and of course turning that wonderful cream on the top of the milk to butter for the Chrismas Braid.

    ReplyDelete
  69. My maids would keep me in milk and feed my coffee addition

    ReplyDelete
  70. 8 Maids a Milking? Sounds like fun. I would take them to my granddaughters preschool on show and tell day. The kids would love it!!

    ReplyDelete
  71. I'd have the maids skim off the cream while I'm making a humongous chocolate mousse from the milk, then I'd whip up the cream and put monster dollops of it on the chocolate mousse that we'd eat during our post-milking party...

  72. Considering the amount of milk we go thru in this house...those 8 maids a milking would really come in handy. I'd make sure they also know how to mix up a good chocolate milk :)
