hmmm... here's hoping they'd be good layers and the perfect way to start my backyard flock. I daydream about having chickens and a cute little coop in the backyard. Someday...

P.S. Got the pretty pretty fabric in the mail just the other day. Boy that was fast! I love it. Thanks!!!

As long as they lay eggs, they could prove very useful, otherwise they might end up as dinner.

Three French hens...I love France, everything about it, so I would feel a little closer to France by having these hens in the yard. I have always dreamed of having chickens, so that we could have fresh eggs everyday, three would be perfect!

3 french hens - kind of like the saying teach them to fish - hens lay eggs and Easter is coming - I think a hen house would be good!

I've been wanting some chickens, so I'd build a coop and keep them for eggs. We'd have frittata every Saturday, and I'd give away the extra eggs to Food Gatherers.

Deb said...

Like most people I think I'd use them for culinary purposes...

Anonymous said...

Chickens are lovely but live ones would terrify the cat and get chased by the baby so I'm afraid they'd have to go in the oven!

SewLindaAnn said...

3 French Hens would have a lovely townhouse coop in my backyard and an opportunity to weed my garden of it's many Summer bugs. In exchange for this lovely life I'd hope for some eggs.

I'd get in as much practice as possible - we're hoping to visit France this summer and I'm a little rusty on the Francais! Oh, I might knit them up tiny hen-sized matching berets, too. Just for fun.

I think I would try and get some eggs out of these ones too...

I adore fresh eggs and have quite a little flock they could join but now I just really want to make a quilt with a block for every line of the song.

Brittany said...

I too would have to keep them ... the eggs would be tasty. hmmm ... I guess I could turn the balcony into a coop and tell the land lord they are cats. Cats and hens look alike ... right? ;-)

3 french hens? I'd make chicken cordon bleu with them. Yum! That sounds really good.

Brigette said...

Yum! I would give them to friend who keeps chickens.

Purl Buttons said...

With three French hens, I would photograph them and play with the images, print my own fabric and make some chicken quilts. I would try to paint them for note cards and I would knit them tiny sweaters. Really, I would. But I would have to give them to my brother so he can start his retirement hobby farm. We are deed restricted from chickens and roosters! I find that funny.

Pattie Crum said...

I would love to say something sweet but, I'm pretty sure I would eat them sooner or later.

Sewing Miles of Smiles said...

My cat does the same thing. I think an alarm goes off when I pick up my camera and he follows me so he can get in the photo!
