Day 6 of 12 Goodie Giveaway

We are half way through the goodie giveaway! Thanks so much for playing along with me and I hope you're enjoying it as much as I am.

The winner of Pooches and Pickups from yesterday's giveaway is #57 - Lori.

I would have them go grocery shopping! It's my least favorite thing to do, and I haven't gone in two weeks. It needs to be done desperately!

And now onto today's goodies. Since we're half way through, today is a big one! There will be 3 winners!
Winner number one will receive a FQ pack of Modern Whimsy in Meadow

And the lovely Amanda Murphy, a fellow designer with Robert Kaufman and a talented pattern designer, has created a really beautiful pattern called Bejeweled. She used Modern Whimsy for her sample and it is simply gorgeous. Amanda has kindly provided me with a few copies to giveaway to you! So winners 2 and 3 will each receive a copy of Amanda's pattern, Bejeweled. Thanks Amanda!

I also wanted to show off my new chair cover. It's for the chair I use at my sewing machine and I just love the way it turned out. Its one of my favorite chairs in the house.

And I cannot believe that I haven't shown you the selvage from Modern Whimsy! It has my bunnies on it! Eeeeee!!! So cute, huh?! Cannot wait to come up with a bunny selvage project. And just wait until you guys feel the hand on this fabric. Its  100%organic and soooo soft and its a dream to sew with.

Well thanks for sticking with me through this long post!

I quess I would have to dig a pond for my seven swans a swimming. I really do have lots of unfinished tasks to do already but swans are beautiful. Those Lords and ladies would of really helped. Thanks for the amazing giveaway

7 swans a swimming would make a beautiful addition to our yard. But then I would have to make a pond and keep the dogs from chasing them. Love this fabric. I sure hope I win! Thanks for a chance!

My kids love feeding the ducks at the zoo. I'm sure swans would be no different. This could keep them busy for a while. It's like having our own zoo in the back yard, except we don't have a pond. That could be problematic.

Amanda Hall said...

Amazing fabric!!! hmm, I think I would definitely make a quilt for one of my girls with the fabric, or maybe add some solids and make a quilt for all 3 of my girls!!!

knottygnome said...

Thanks for the giveaway!

I'd have to set the swans up behind glass and then i'd have a great live episode of CatTV. i'm sure my cats would be entertained for hours.

i don't think swans would survive very long in our yard... everything is frozen solid. besides, what do swans provide besides looking pretty? oh wait, can you use swan feathers to feather a pillow??? yes!!!

Wendy said...

Love this fabric :) I would flood my back yard and let those beautiful swans swim around and bring a bit of the exotic to my landscape!

Lindsay said...

I would give them a pond n my back yard and add them to my laying hens. Swans give eggs right?

Rae Arnold said...

These are beautiful fabrics! Thank you for the opportunity.

As a dancer, I immediately thought of Swan Lake. I guess my answer is to use them as inspiration to choreograph my own dance!

Jeni Baker said...

Oh my, this line is just so pretty! I would give him to my Dad to put on my parent's pond at their new house! :)

Anonymous said...

I do have a pond, but I think it'd only hold one uncomfortable swan at a time, which couldn't be very fun for the swan. Perhaps I'd send them off to the pond/lake a few blocks away in my neighbourhood. Which isn't very fun, but what else are you going to do with so many swans? I guess you could try to wrangle them into a swan parade.

Love to have this!!!! syates@umc.edu

If someone gave me seven swans, I'd give them right back. Birds and I don't get along.

This fabric though? WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better. =) Lovely!

frozenMandMs said...

Oh, I really need those seven swans. We always have sooooo many geese in the pond behind our house. These geese leave lots of "presents" in our backyard. Swans protect their territory and chase the geese away. Bring on the swans!

Faith Jones said...

I cannot wait for this fabric to come out! It will be perfect for a spring quilt!

Let's see, the swans. I suppose my 5 year old would make us dig a pond for them...so let's hope I never actually have Seven Swans a Swimming.

Suzical said...

How lovely is that fabric!
With 7 swans we'd have to enlarge the pond in our new house rather than fill it in! Though they might scare the puppy somewhat! :)

NancyinSTL said...

Seven swans-a-swimming would be wonderful to view from my living room window, so I would dredge a lake, stock it with yummy fish and provide a wonderful home for the swans there. Hopefully, they would return after flying South during the cold winter here.

I can be reach via Flickr Mail.

Katie B said...

Hmm...I'm honestly a little afraid of birds, especially those of the large pecking variety. So I'd probably send them on their merry way.

sewtakeahike said...

oh my gosh Laurie, this line is sooooo good! Honestly, I'd probably do cushions for my dining table. We just moved into a new home and cushions with the swans would go so good!

Staci said...

This fabric is so darn cute!
Swans a swimming, hmmmm. I think I would donate them to the local park for the pond there and then the entire community could be blessed. I have kitties, and my kitties would try to chase them, which would end badly for the kitties as swans are very big and very strong!

hueisei said...

Thx for the lovely giveaway! Well, I will take a photo of them and publish to my blog :)

Ann said...

Love the fabric and pattern. There is a big pond across the street where I could send them to swim. Or this time of year, I would have to strap on 7 pairs of skates and send them out to the pond.

Mrs Flying Blind... said...

Oooh bunny selvedges!!
I'd have the swans waddling on the front garden to make it look like I really was the Queen!

cherie godbey said...

Love the new line! I would let me kids play with the swans, they would love that!!!

Brittany said...

hmmm ... considering that I live in an apartment ... 7 swans-a-swimming would be kinda amusing considering they would be in our small bath tub. Instead I should take them out to the farmland and find a big pond for them to swim in. Here's to hoping they don't freeze their little tail feathers off.
Beautiful fabric, as always, I can't wait for it to be released. :-)

verykerryberry said...

A cute selvedge is such great attention to detail- my dog would just bark and go crazy so I would shoo the swans away with the lure of bread

Carolyn said...

Love this fabric! It so wants to come live with me. :0) Let's see...seven swans a-swimming....I'm not sure what I'd do with them. My three dogs would have too much fun with them if I kept them. Maybe I'd give them to the zoo so they would be happy. Yep, that's the ticket!

Great giveaway! Thanks for the chance! :0)

DianeY said...

I'd kind of leash them together & pull my boat so I could pretend I was Santa in his sleigh-the acquatic version.

ThirdMargaret said...

I would rent my seven swans to brides! That way many people could enjoy their beauty and I would make some extra fabric money!!

briscoeslochico said...

I would attach nets to their feet and have them skim our pool of all the dang leaves that are floating around!!

Hannah said...

I would LOVE to have seven swans swimming around outside my house (or walking or flying or whatever else swans do). They're so peaceful to watch. I'd just let them do their thing and smile every time I saw them.

Erica said...

I'm not sure what I would do with 7 swans a swimming since I live in the middle of Los Angeles, but I am sure there is a nice swimming pool nearby.

linda said...

beautiful fabrics ..............7 swans a swimming would be down on the stream in front of our house !!

Gill said...

I'd give them a wide berth as the last time we found a swan in our garden it chased the children and hissed a lot!!

Kelly said...

I would enjoy watching the 7 swans-a-swimming scatter as my lab chased after them! :)

Lindsay Conner said...

Oh my, the chair-back cover and bunny selvage are too cute for words! :) With seven swans a swimming, I would attach scrubbers to their feet and put them to work cleaning my bathtub.

Kelsey said...

I would show the seven swans a swimming to my son. I'm sure he'd watch with fascination. :)

Ranelle said...

7 swans a swimming would keep the kitty entertained for a hours. She's already obsessed with the little birds in the backyard...chattering at them through the window. Swans might throw her over the edge.

Sequana said...

I want them up on the high board to see if they really CAN do a decent swan dive.

Isisjem said...

oooh love the selvages - too cute. I would make the swans go down to the local river and show the ugly duckling in the reeds all the possibilities in the world!

Reene@Nellie's Niceties said...

I get them to chase the neighbours' cats away! 7 swans should definitely be up to that challenge! I love your bunny selvedges :)

Elizabeth said...

Love this fabric, so cute!

I'd probably unleash the swans into my parent's swimming pool (in warmer weather of course). They'd get a kick out of it at first but would then no doubt call animal control and write me out of their wills.

Jen said...

Thanks for the giveaway! Like another commenter I would let them loose in our local river - would be wonderful to see amongst the ducks, swamp hens and occasional pelican!

annemarie said...

I would put the swans in my backyard and let my grandsons chase them around - they would have a blast.

Andrea said...

Ohhhhh I love Modern Whimsy.....and those swans would be quite happy on our pond...floating peacefully.

memmens said...

I'd have to take them down to the river quick and enjoy the sight of them swimming and flying! My children would freak out if we kept them! thanks for another fantastic chance to win.

Angela said...

So pretty Laurie! Love the selvage!! Seven swans a swimming would be quite happy here at the condo because there is a large "pond" throughout the complex. I doubt I could get away with keeping them all though because my mother would be sure to steal a couple for her pond. lol

diana said...

Oh my God, I forgot about the stooory :(((
So, here's a story about a man and a fish. :D

Sonia B said...

I would build a pond and watch them swim . . . I think swans are so beautiful. Thanks for the chance!

Barb said...

With 3 kids under 5, I don't think I could handle 7 swans. Perhaps I could send them to the zoo or the park to inspire other people?

JulieGmehlin said...

I would send the swans to cheer for my son at his swim meet this weekend! Big 3 day meet, he could use the extra support, and they could just swim alongside him!

Jan Maree said...

THanks again - I think I would take them down to the local water system where there are currently ducks and grumpy geese. It would be fun to see swans there too and lots of kids go there to feed the birds so they would love it too - and baby swans - too cute!

WandaFish said...

Well they've been dredging part of the marsh where I live so it might be nice to have the swans swimming here and my daughter can get to see them every day - such beautiful birds!
*sigh* Such beautiful fabric and the Bejeweled pattern looks great - thanks for the chance to win!
How did it get to Friday, btw? I seem to have missed a day this week!

Stevens Family said...

I wold take them quickly out of my house - I am not cleaning up that mess! Then take them to the local duck park. Add some beauty there.

Vintage Girl/Marivel said...

oooh ,lovely fabrics.

Jennifer Ladd said...

They would go right back out the door as quickly as they came in! I had a traumatic experience with them when I was a kid, and I'd hate to relive it!! :)

Seven Swans a swimming would be circling my house as an alarm system!

Elizabeth B. (blue.crab) said...

Oh, I"m not sure what to do with seven swans. Those birds are mean! Pretty, though... I think I like the idea of making them into an alarm system....

Kylie Carlson said...

Since I'm not a fan of swans (they eat seedling- seriously they can mow your garden to bare dirt) I'd be out in the yard shooing them away.

Lindzoo said...

wow this is a great giveaway! Thank you so much.
What to do with seven swans a swimming?? Set them free I suppose! Who would want all that swan poop in their yard?

Live a Colorful Life said...

I just ordered this fabric from Pink Chalk but I would GLADLY take some more!!!

Hmmm. Swans mate for life, right? I guess I'd feel sorry for the "single" one. Maybe. "Alarm system" is a good idea.

Suzanne said...

I asked my 8 year old and she said, "I'd make a boat and tie ropes on it to put around the swan's necks and make them pull me!" :)

Anonymous said...

What a great prize! I live right across the road from a lake/protected bird reserve, so I think they would really enjoy meeting our local pelicans :)

Beth said...

Well, this is your easiest question yet. Our neighbor has a beautiful pond and some lovely (albeit crabby) swans a'swimmin' there. So I'd invite the seven visitors to take a day off and join Karl's flock.

Jenny said...

i think some sychronized swimming would be in order.

Abby said...

I'd stay away from them! Swans are really mean birds. I'd just let them swim and hope they don't like your lawn too much! I hope I win the fabric! It would be beautiful in one of the kiddie quilts my mom makes for charity.

craftykat said...

Well in Australia one of our sporting teams are the Sydney Swans - i'd be quite happy to just watch them swim for a bit!

Head Ov Metal said...

Seven swans a swimming? I'd follow them around the edge of the water and take lots of pictures.

Seven swans a swimming..maybe they could catch some fish for our dinner! Love your new line, so springy!

I'd give those seven swans the job of chasing all the Canadian geese out of our local ponds and taking over the job of swimming there. Kathie L in Allentown

christilee said...

I would watch them swim they are so beautiful. I may try to capture them by painting them.

I Quilt for Fun said...

Sell them to buy fabric -- way too messy to have swans around and they can be cranky...Jan

BillieBee (billiemick) said...

I'd definitely get them out of my tub. That's the only place they could be swimming over here....giggle.

aksherry said...

I would take those seven swans and put them with all the other swans that live around here. I would make sure to find open water first!!!!

Mom C said...

Unfortunately, we live in a desert. My friend has chickens and a little pond but there isn't room for even one swan to swim more than 3 or 4 leg pulls. I'm afraid they would fly the coop at my house and head over to a larger pond, where some wiseguy kid would shoot them with a 22. So if they turned up I'd have to return them to sender.

Karen O said...

Seven swans a swimming? I would make a pond in my yard and have them live there if they want to so I could admire them! Your fabric is so cute!

Annmarie said...

We live on a river between 2 lakes & every spring we have a pair of swans floating around waiting for the ice to melt on the lakes. I would LOVE to see 7 swans a swimmin instead of 2. They are soooooo beautiful!!! Great giveaway - thanks for the chance to win.

Lisa E said...

Thanks for the giveaway. My yard is too small for seven swans a swimming. However, we live near a golf course with a nice big pond. I'm sure they would love to live there, and I could visit them.
Swans are so beautiful.

Ashley said...

Wow thanks for a chance to win an awesome giveaway! Seven swans a swimming...hmm well if you mean real swans I would try to find homes for them... my 2 little boys(2 yrs and 1 yr) are a handful. Could you imagine them with Seven swans...I wouldn't have a chance. LOL If you mean the fabric there are so many wonderful things to be done with that pretty fabric.

P.s. I also saw your sleep mask tut and wanted to say I thought it was so cute having Clara model for you. What a cute puppy!

Thanks Again!!

OK, I linked over here from Amand's blog & I love her patterns so I am "in" for this giveaway!! Thank you. As for the 7 swans: our local lakes are currently frozen over, but if you give them to me in summer, I'll release them to glide beautifully over Liberty Lake.

Katie said...

If I had 7 swans a swimming, I would probably let them loose in the pond near where my parents live. Then all the kids who live near them would have awesome swans to go feed! :)

Jennyroo said...

I'm kind of afraid of birds. We have loads of Canada Geese here and I was traumatized as a child trying to feed those aggressive things some bread crumbs! But I will admire the birds if they are over in your yard, I'm sure they're lovely!

Jenelle said...

I would start a swan variety act and take my seven swans on tour. ;) Thanks for the giveaway!

I would add one (ugly red nosed) duckling to the seven swimming swans, hook them to a watersled, and have Santa deliver presents to the waterfront areas.

Catskill Quilter said...

I would use this lovely fabric for pillows -- wonderful!

JLG said...

Love the chair cover! Not sure what I would do with some swans. Although we do have a c--p load of geese who hang out here at our lake in Denver all winter!

Mhairi said...

Seven Swans a-swimming - I guess I would need to forget about the new shed and build a swimming pool so they could swim. Thankfully it is summer here so I guess we would have fun with a pool. Although the kindest thing to do would be to release them in the wetlands at the end of the road. So no pool and the shed goes up, Phew - that is my new sewing room.

LochKnitsMonster said...

Swim with them!

Carla G said...

The seven swans a swimming could teach my kids to swim. :)

Donna Joy said...

Seven swans a swimming need treats. So I'd sit by the pond, on my bench with the weeping willow branches hanging gracefully overhead and feed my lovely swans.

I'd herd those swans right through the front lobby and into the pool, inspection or not, and show 'em the swimmers have grown very restless! No brainer, and thanks for the giveawy.

I'd have to install a hot tub (a rather large one) and build some sort of addition onto the house for it. Minnesota is cold right now. The 10,000 lakes are freezing over, you know! Live on a farm, but took down the barn years ago. The 8 maids-a-milking retired.

I would put the swans in the lake behind our property. They would be very happy. I would then buy the best binoculars I could find so I could watch them in my leisure. Could my swans fly away??? Blessings, Lee
