Day 8 of 12 Goodie Giveaway

Yea! Weekend! I've had a great one so far and hope you have too! Today's post will be a quick one though. Headed into the studio for a morning of designing patterns. Have coffee in hand and ideas in head :)

First, yesterday's winner via random number generator. Congrats to Tammy who left comment #25:
Geese and their eggs would be wonderful. So many things to make. Hallowed out egg ornaments for the tree. Lots of deviled eggs to eat! Can use the goose's down feathers for a comforter and it's meat for pate! Hope that end part isn't too gross to folks, but I love pate!

And now onto today's giveaway!
-A pair of Olive the Ostrich Pillow Panels
-Two half yard cuts of ANY of my Robert Kaufman fabric (winner's choice!)

Store note: All of the holiday pillow panels (in all 4 panels) have sold out. I did really love doing them so I'll create some new ones next year! :)

Here's one of the Olive panels that I stitched up with black piping.

  • To be registered to win, just leave a comment here on this post.
  • Please make sure you I have a way to contact you
  • Entries from around the world welcome!! I'm happy to ship your prizes to wherever you might be.
  • In your comment tell me what you'd do with five golden rings (I can't even type that without singing that portion of the song!)
Good luck! And see you tomorrow for the announcement of the Day 8 winner and for the start of the Day 9 giveaway!!

Five golden rings... that's easy. I would have them engraved with my kid's birthdays and give them to each on their 18th birthdays. Five kids... five rings. Perfect!

Five golden rings would be a lot of fun. I think I'd get them sized for each member of my family. Maybe have something cute written on them.

Five golden rings of my phone: one from my boytoy, one from the jeweler (ring is ready), one from the bank (they made a thousand dollar mistake in my favor), one from the car dealer (my Beemer is ready) and one from POTUS! I won the dinner with him and Michelle. YIPEE!

Shannon said...

It looks like we're all thinking alike! I would give the five golden rings to the ladies in my family - two nieces, my sister, mom, and grandmother!

craftytammie said...

5 golden rings! perfect! one for my man and our four kids! i'd inscribe each with the date they came into my lives(ex. oct.23,2004) and beside it, - forever.

Brittany said...

Five golden rings ... first I think I would pass out from the shock of it. Then I would engrave one with a cute saying ... don't have any clue what ... and then squirrel the others away for a really rainy day.

Laura said...

I would share them with my three sisters and my one sister in law!

gill said...

Perfect!
I'm one of five sisters! One each!

Aimee said...

I would love to be entered! I think if I had five golden rings, I would probably sell them to some gold people, then I would have more Christmas money.

Kati said...

Well, I'm not really a jewelry person, so I'd probably sell the rings and buy fabric! I really, really want to win this round by the way. I'm still kicking myself that I waited to long to buy your pillow panels. I was thinking one of these and one donkey, but debated and then they were all gone in just a day or so. Next year I won't wait as long!

Debbie said...

I would sell them and give the money to five struggling families to help them pay bills and buy Christmas for their family.

epban said...

Five golden rings? I think I'd have to sell them to help my daughters buy their college textbooks in January!

Lindsay said...

Sadly I think I would sell four of them to pay down my student loans. I would keep the fifth in reserve though for wearing... and in case I needed extra money in a pinch. Oh how grad school as gotten to me.

~Michelle~ said...

So for whatever reason, I can't think of the 5 golden rings line without translating it into the Mickey Mouse version of the song, wherein Goofy declares "5 onion rings" each time, lol! Can't remember any of the other items in the Mickey version except for #5 :)

Flying Blind... said...

Send them off to a 'Cash for Gold' site and spend the money on fabric!!

natioradison said...

One for each ear and between the nostrils and over each eyebrow, if I was a pig and could fly!

Katie B. said...

I think I'd take them to Pawn Stars and trade them for some cashola.

Andrea said...

Five golden rings....one for each daughter in law (2) and one for each of my three granddaughters. Lovely gifts!

Alisa said...

This one is easy. I would give three of the golden rings to my daughters and the other two would be somehow melted together and turned into a much more manly ring for my youngest, my boy.

Lisa Marie said...

A ring for me, one for each of my 2 sisters and one for each of my 2 sisters-in-law.

Jeni said...

Five golden rings? Wow! That's a lot of rings! I'd definitely keep one for myself, then probably give the rest to family! :)

DianeY said...

Being practical here, with the price of gold these days, I'd probably sell them for money to buy more fabric! I'm not much a romantist this morning, I guess!

Katie said...

5 golden rings would probably fetch a nice penny considering there are all those places saying they'll buy my gold jewelry. So I would probably sell them. Use some money for quilt/craft things and donate some. I know many nonprofits that would love a donation this time of year!

Looks like a lot of people are more generous with the gifts their true loves gave them than I'd be! I wouldn't be giving away my five golden rings! I don't wear rings, though, so probably I'd have them melted down and recast into something I could hang off a necklace, though what exactly I don't know.

Five Golden rings...one for each granddaughter and one for me, all matching, so everyone knows we are of one family and that we all love each other very much!

As wonderful of a gift that would be, with the price of gold right now, I would sell them all and either fix the leaky roof on our house or take my amazing husband on the honeymoon we were never able to afford.

Jess said...

Five people in our family so five rings is perfect - one each (at least once my kids are old enough not to lose or eat them...) Love the cushion panel!

I love those pillow panels! If I had five golden rings, I'd sell them and put the money in our someday house account. I'll take a cozy home over pretty jewelry any day.

Deb said...

I would sell them too as I am not much of a ring person. Now if it was 5 golden bangles, that's a different story!

Carla G said...

I would wear one, one for each of my 2 neices and one for each of my 2 sil's. We'd all be pretty wearing our golden rings. Thanks for a chance to win your lovely giveaway! :)

Angela said...

Oh I have plenty of nieces and SILs and my daughter who could all have one. The tough time would be deciding who actually gets one. I think I need 25 golden rings! If you're going to dream, dream big!

Lindsay Conner said...

Adorable panel! I would most definitely pawn those suckers to buy a fancy sewing machine and lots and lots of Kona solids. :)

Lee said...

I would give one each to my five best friends! thanks!

Cash 4 Gold, yo.

highwaycottage said...

Five gold rings would be excellent right now. I'd swap them for cash as I have to pay the big boy's rent while he's away on his first OE.

annemarie said...

Five golden rings - think I would have to sell them and use the money to buy lots of fabric and yarn! How selfish can one be???

deserae said...

I would share the 5 golden rings with my friends! :)

CC said...

I second the Cash 4 Gold route. I look so much better in silver, white gold, or platinum. I love the panel.

Stephanie C. said...

I'd wear em! Who doesn't love some bling?!

Diary of a Flutter.Kat said...

Oh tough choice - the money or the bag? (Did you ever have that game show over there?)
I guess it would depend how much glitz the gold rings had as to how hard a time I'd have of letting them be sold for much needed cash LOL

Kathryn said...

I already have one golden ring - my wedding band - so I'd probably sell them for the gold and donate to a worthy charity. Kathie L in Allentown

My favorite line in the song! I always thought the geese where laying them! Pity I don't wear gold - I like the idea of selling them and giving the proceeds to charity.

Jodi said...

Wow!! 5 golden rings, well since I only 2 fingers that don't have rings on them, I'd keep two and give one to my daughter, one to my Mom and one to my sister.

Barb said...

Thanks for the chance to win. I think I'd sell 3 and put the money in my kids education saving account and give the other 2 to our local foodbank. Sorry, sometimes I can't help but be practical.

KOcanQuilt said...

5 Golden Rings? I would hope they were large ones so I could sell them and pay off debt. Boring, I know, but that debt is stopping me from buying much fabric. That Ostrich is beyond adorable.

LochKnitsMonster said...

I'd give them to my mom, my sister, my two grandmothers and myself as a symbol of our connectedness.

Kirsten N said...

I would keep one of the rings each for my daughter and myself, and sell the others to buy a lovely new sewing machine.

I shouldn't comment since I already have so many of your lovelies, but I just had to because those pillow panels are too cute!! How did I miss those? Anyway, I might be with those selling the rings to buy more fabric! One can never have too much fabric (or cute pillows, for that matter!)
