Book giveaway!

Thank you so much for everyone's tremendously supportive emails about my book, Mastering the Art of Fabric Printing and Design. It was such fun to follow along on the book tour the last 2 weeks and I hope you were able to catch a few of the posts! (And if you missed any of the tour, here's a list...) Writing the book was such a labor of love and its been so heart warming that the book has been well received! Thank you so much again for all of your support.

As promised, I'm bringing up the rear for the book tour and hosting a giveaway! This coming Friday 3/30,  I'll be drawing three names from the comments on this post and sending off signed copies to the winners. To be entered to win, just leave me a comment here and let me know why you'd like the book and if there's anything specific you're hoping to learn from it. Good luck!

I would love a chance to get your book. I really want to try designing my own prints, but I'm a bit clueless on how and where to start. Do I need a fancy program? How do you do repeats of patterns, but make it look seemeless? etc etc. Plus I think it would be fun to play around with hand printing with stamps and such, but again I'm clueless on the how to details.

Hi Laurie. Thank you for the giveaway. I really have been looking forward to the release of your book. You and other designers in blogland have really peaked my interest in designing fabrics. I respect your work so that leads me to believe your book will be a fantastic resource.

Marcia W. said...

The reason that I would love to win a signed copy of your book (because like your work) is because I am color challenged and need to get a better feel for mixing colors together. Plus, I like to draw designs (e.g. quilting motifs) and want to learn how to make repeats. And, I'm into mathematics (my degree and prior occupation) and want to learn how to handle symmetry for a quilt that's been floating in my head for years that I cannot translate into a sketch! OK, I'm good at math, poor at writing. Hope to win - I visited every blog hop location to learn more.

you're giving away three? so generous! thanks so much for the chance to win!

i've always been a sewer, but it's only in recent years that i've been so obsessed with quilting. before quilting i did a lot more "art" - that is, printing, silkscreening, mixed media, etc. i keep thinking that designing my own fabric would be a great way to bring the art side back into my life, and i think the book would be a great motivation. i've been eyeing it since it was first announced!

in terms of something specific to learn, i already know that i need to learn more about repeats, positioning, etc. it seems mathy to me, and therefore scary to my right-brained self!
